#39 My Cat’s Unexpected Houseguest
My Cat Just Brought This Little Guy Home. I Guess I Have A New Pet
Living with a feline friend is always an adventure, and today’s unanticipated course of events has left me both delighted and somewhat confused. Our houseguard, my reliable cat, has chosen to grow our family in the most original manner available.
I became aware of my cat’s unexpected fixation on a certain area of the room while I was going about my day. Intrigued, I walked toward the location only to see a little, modest critter my cat had obviously brought home as a new companion.
I wasn’t sure initially how to respond. Was it a fresh mouse? perhaps a baby bird? But as I examined more closely, I saw that my cat had somehow caught and delivered a little, scurrying lizard, with wriggling tail and inquisitive eyes.
The scene was confusing as well as charming. The always alert hunter, my cat had obviously taken it upon herself to increase the list of occupants in our house, and I couldn’t resist the appeal of this unplanned visitor.
I pondered the narrative underlying the lizard’s arrival as I gently collected it. Had my cat come upon it on their outdoor excursions? Alternatively was this a well planned strategy to bring a fresh member into our family?
Whatever the situation, I find myself in awe of my cat’s inventiveness and dedication to provide us a very unique companion. Although tending to a lizard might not have been on my to-do list, I’m welcoming this unanticipated addition with open arms, ready to see what other shocks my cat friend has in store.
