The Ghost Palace Hotel, formally known as PI Bedugul Taman Rekreasi Hotel and Resort, is steeped in eerie tales and local folklore. Stories suggest that the project’s financier, Tommy Suharto—son of former Indonesian President Suharto—fell victim to a curse owing to corrupt business practices, leading to bankruptcy and the halt of construction .
Despite the ominous reputation, the Ghost Palace Hotel continues to draw visitors who are drawn to its mysterious aura and the allure of its spectacular mountain and lake views .
Montgomery Fort
Montgomery Fort, located on the Canada-US border, was constructed in 1816. Due to a surveying error, the Americans nearly completed the fortification before realizing it was situated on the Canadian side, leading to its abandonment. Consequently, it has earned the moniker “The Fort of Errors” .
