5. Volumized Pony
To add some volume, rake your hair with your fingers; knot it with a hair elastic from the crown of your head. Then gently tousle the top to create volume. Backcomb the ponytail top for additional bouffant. Any group will gain from this sophisticated yet understated approach in injecting some drama. To get grip and maximum volume, start with day-old hair or apply a texturizing spray to just-washed hair. To create a high ponytail, turn your head upside down and brush your hair towards the head crown. Closely fasten it with a hair elastic in your color. A perfect extra grip tool would be a bungee hair tie. After the ponytail is secured, gently tease the hair at the crown of your head with a fine-toothed comb. Work your way down from the roots, backcombing in brief, quick strokes beginning around an inch away. Take extreme care not to over-tease; knots and harm might follow from this. To seem professional, smooth the top layer of hair over the teased section. Starting from the ends and working your way up, gently backcomb small areas to add additional ponytail volume. Finish the look with a little sprinkle of flexible-hold hairspray to keep everything in place without stiffness. Consider slinking a small amount of hair around the ponytail base to conceal the hair elastic for a more formal event.
