Elara lifted an eyebrow. ‘What sort of business?’ she asked. Clearly unprepared for thorough questioning, he stammered over his replies.
“Something tech-related,” he steered away from. Knowing she had no intention of supporting his plans, Elara feigned to give his idea some thought.
She listened and nodded, masking her actual goals.

Elara feigned agreement and compliance throughout their conversations. “I just want to move on with my life,” she said gently and with real sincerity.
She behaved as though she had found acceptance of the circumstances. ‘This is best for both of us,’ she said, deftly hiding her true motives.
