According to cat behaviorist John Bradshaw’s explanation to National Geographic, cats treat people basically as they would other cats. “Putting their tails up in the air, rubbing around our legs, and sitting beside us and grooming us are exactly what cats do to each other.” He believes, nonetheless, that they most likely view us as clumsy; few cats tumble over other cats.
