We spoke with UK-based wildlife photographer Ashley Barnard about capturing high-quality photographs of animals in their natural habitat. First, we wanted to know how Ashley ended up shooting animals.
“I was already working full-time as a photographer. I do a lot of wedding and commercial photography, but I am also an avid outdoor enthusiast,” he explained. “I’ve done a lot of mountaineering and ice climbing and enjoy being outside. It wasn’t until I obtained my first large telephoto 600 millimeter lens that I realized I could maybe start photographing wildlife.”
