Remarkably clean creatures, these fuzzy rodents bathe their feet, whiskers, and fur several times a day. This care for hygiene not only makes them appear attractive but also maintains their health. If rats are not kept in cages, PETA claims that their skin smells like nice perfume. Domesticated rats also make excellent pets for children because they rarely bite.
