#15 Ariel
Found discarded in a supermarket parking park was a dog born with various birth abnormalities including two extra legs. Ariel’s partially fused additional rear legs, which reminded rescuers of a mermaid’s tail, gave her her moniker from Disney’s Little Mermaid. Eventually, a couple who instruct those with impairments in surfing adopted the doggo.
Along with various physical problems, my dog had distemper as a youngster and suffers significant brain impairment from the viral illness. He twitched in his sleep and even while drugged; his stomach muscles “twitch” (which influences his digestion); he had myoclonus, persistent, uncontrollable twitching. Apart from his body being continuously twisted to the right, he also suffers with movement problems and balance. He is a content dog, nonetheless, who enjoys beach trips, hikes, baseball cap wearing, toy chasing, and croissants. If given the chance, dogs have full, happy, healthy lives; they do not “know” when they are impaired. 🙂
